A smarter way to support heavy equipment
Reduce manual handling
Minimise line-of-fire risk
Improve productivity
Re-think traditional steel support stands
Traditional steel support stands are heavy, difficult to move and often require extra handling during setup and pack-down. For decades, crews have relied on physical strength and youthful vigour to lift, drag and manoeuvre heavy stands into position. But manual handling adds up. What feels manageable early in a career can take a toll over years of repeated work, increasing the risk of strain, fatigue and injury later in life. Those same handling tasks also cost businesses time, with labour hours lost moving, positioning and storing heavy support equipment.
THE ISSUE
Composite Stands are lightweight, load-rated support stands designed to support elevated heavy equipment during maintenance, repair, assembly and storage activities. Engineered from advanced composite materials, they offer a robust and durable alternative to traditional steel stands while helping reduce manual handling, minimise line-of-fire risk and improve setup efficiency. What began as a practical solution to a real industry problem has evolved into a globally patented support stand system for vehicles, machinery and heavy equipment. At the centre of the technology is a patented composite column, developed using a unique lay-up method that places the composite fibres into tension to create exceptional compressive strength. Designed and certified in Australia, Composite Stands are independently tested and compliant with applicable standards including AS/NZS 2538:2016, AS/NZS 2693:2007, ASME PASE-2019 and BS AU 223a:2006.
Common applications for Composite Stands
01
ALUMINIUM OR STEEL BASE
Provides a stable foundation for the support stand and helps distribute load through the base of the support system. Models up to 25t use aluminium containing strontium for improved flex, while models 35t and above use fabricated steel.
02
COMPOSITE COLUMN
The main load-bearing structure of the stand, engineered from advanced composite materials to deliver high strength, durability and significantly reduced weight compared with traditional steel.
03
SOLID STEEL ENGAGEMENT HEAD AND HANDLE
The solid steel engagement head provides a durable contact point between the stand and the supported equipment. On lower-capacity models, including the 15t and 25t range, the integrated handle assists with placement, positioning and retrieval.
04
UV VINYL WRAP
Helps protect the composite column from UV exposure while displaying key product information, including safety markings, load rating and identification details in accordance with relevant standards.
