WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF COMPOSITE STANDS
Today, Composite Stands uses semi-automated, demand-led manufacturing to improve consistency, efficiency and production capacity while maintaining control over product quality.
Composite Stands began in 2016, when founder Mathew Dow identified a need for a safer, lighter and more practical alternative to traditional heavy steel support stands.
From the first stands built by hand to today's robotics-enabled production, Composite Stands has evolved from a practical industry problem into a globally patented support stand system for heavy equipment. Using innovative composite technology and design, our support stands are engineered to reduce manual handling, improve setup efficiency and support safer maintenance, repair, assembly and storage activities around vehicles, machinery and heavy equipment. At the centre of our technology is a patented composite column, developed using a unique lay-up method that places the composite fibres into tension to create exceptional compressive strength. The result is a lightweight, load-rated support stand designed for real industrial use, helping crews reduce unnecessary handling, minimise line-of-fire risk and improve productivity during heavy equipment operations. Composite Stands are designed and certified in Australia, independently tested, and compliant with applicable standards including AS/NZS 2538:2016, AS/NZS 2693:2007, ASME PASE-2019 and BS AU 223a:2006.
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Composite Stands designs and manufactures lightweight, load-rated composite support stands for heavy equipment and industrial support applications. Our products are used across maintenance, repair, assembly and storage activities where reliable support equipment, reduced manual handling and practical setup matter. We work with mining operators, OEM and dealer networks, industrial workshops, heavy equipment maintenance teams and technical buyers who need clear product information, load-rated documentation and support equipment designed for real heavy-industry environments.
BUILT FROM A REAL PROBLEM
Composite Stands began with a practical problem seen across heavy equipment maintenance, repair, assembly and storage activities: traditional steel stands were heavy to move, awkward to position and created manual handling and efficiency challenges for technicians and crews. The opportunity was to rethink how heavy equipment could be supported using engineered composite materials. From there, the idea was developed through engineering, product design and independent testing before becoming a commercially credible alternative for industrial support applications.
"We manufacture support equipment that is lighter, safer and easier to handle, and practical for the conditions crews work in every day.”
