CUSTOMER CARE.

Before using Composite Stands, read the operating manual and complete a pre-use inspection. As with all support stands, inspection should be completed before each use in accordance with applicable standards. Operators should understand the product, application, load rating, working height, approved accessories and correct setup before use.

Select the right stand

Check the stand label to confirm the Working Load Limit (WLL) and Maximum Working Height (MWH) are suitable for the load being supported.

02

Use a stable surface

Only use support stands on a flat, hard, level surface capable of sustaining the full load.

Use support stands in pairs

Use support stands in pairs when supporting loads to help ensure the setup is stable, balanced and suitable for the application.

Keep out of the line of fire

Never get under an unsupported load. Use the positioning attachment or placement trolley to help place and retrieve stands while keeping personnel clear of the load.

Composite Stands are designed to be durable and robust in industrial environments. As with all support stands, a pre-use inspection should be completed before each use. If a stand is subject to unusual conditions, such as impact or exposure to hot work, it should be checked carefully before use. The examples below show visible signs to look for during inspection.

01

Impact damage to a Composite Support Stand column showing damaged label and exposed composite material

Check for impact damage

During inspection, check for missing vinyl, splitting, delamination, impact marks or damage around the composite column and label.

02

Concentrated impact damage on a Composite Stand column with exposed fibres

Concentrated damage

Look for deep cuts, gouges, punctures or sharp impact marks in one area of the composite column. Damage greater than 1mm should be referred for review before use.

03

Assess the column

Impact damage to the vinyl label can look significant. Once the label is removed, the composite column can be properly assessed. If the column damage is minor and no delamination is present, the label may be replaced and the stand returned to service.

04

Heat damage to a Composite Support Stand column with burned label area and exposed composite material

Protect from hot work

Use a heat blanket when welding, cutting or grinding near Composite Stands to help prevent heat damage.
